The Val de Loire Management Research Laboratory (VALLOREM), set up in January 2012, is made up of management science teachers and researchers and PHD students (CNU 06 and CNRS 37 sections) from the universities of Tours and Orléans. VALLOREM is attached to the Doctoral School of Social Science: Territories, Economics, Law (SSTED).
Its members teach in all of the academic institutions in the Centre-Val de Loire region: business administration institutes (IAE) of Orléans and Tours, technical institutes (IUT) of Bourges, Chartres, Indre, Orléans and Tours, and the Faculty of Arts, Languages and Human Sciences of Orléans. This geographic network makes it possible to bring together over 50 permanent teachers and researchers, a third of whom are authorised to supervise research, as well as about ten visiting researchers.
The research carried out at VALLOREM concerns the management of organisations. Its activities focus on three different themes:
- management of people and projects ;
- understanding consumer behaviour ;
- organisational creativity, innovation management and performance.
The general spirit of this research has its scientific expression in the theme of OVERALL AND SUSTAINABLE PERFORMANCE, leading to the involvement of the laboratory in many research contracts. The work is based on management science but often involves other disciplines needed to understand and design innovative managerial systems and approaches. The laboratory’s project therefore has an original positioning in the field of management, treating traditional aspects of management but also with a very strong element of innovation. VALLOREM is developing its openness to closely related disciplines in social sciences and humanities, such as law, geography and IT.
VALLOREM also aims to provide a meeting place for researchers and actors in the socio-economic world, as part of a citizen science process. In this connection, the laboratory has two chairs: the Workplace Inclusiveness and Management chair and the Value and Sustainable Consumption chair.
Through all its activities and thanks to the commitment of its members, VALLOREM continues to work to make management science a responsible scientific discipline with a major impact on society.
